Intertakt

A town before electricity never checked a clock at night. Time arrived by voice: the watchman walked his rounds and called the hour as it passed — ten o'clock, and all's well — over dogs, rain, and cartwheels on stone. The streets were dark, his hands carried the lantern and the keys, and nothing about the night was ever read. It was heard. Intertakt runs interval training on that arrangement. Your playlist keeps playing underneath; voice cues and countdown beeps ride over it, each channel at its own volume, and the phone goes face-down from the first round to the last. Work is a round; rest is the walk to the next street. An incoming call is a door checked on the way: when you come back, the round resumes where it stood, at the exact second — never from the first street again.
