Uneed alternative
Uneed's free waiting line is closed to new products, so launching there now means buying a slot. That is a legitimate business model and it is also, for a lot of indie makers, the exact reason they are reading this page.
LetsLaunch has no slot to buy because it has no queue. Publishing is gated on a reciprocal badge, which costs you a link on your own site and nothing else.
Uneed is a launch platform for SaaS, AI and indie tools, with a daily featured board and community upvoting. The formerly free waiting line is closed to new products, so launching means buying a slot: Fast-Track assigns a date roughly two weeks out, and Skip the Line lets you choose one. A separate Pro membership is offered annually.
Every launch tier advertises a dofollow link from a high-authority domain. We do not take that on trust for any site, ours included — the check we ran against their listing pages is further down this page.
Mechanics, side by side. Everything in the Uneed column comes from their own pricing and submission pages; where we could not confirm something, the cell says so.
| LetsLaunch | Uneed | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to launch | Free, permanently. Paid tiers add placement and remove badge upkeep. | Paid slots only for new products; free queue closed |
| Wait | None — publish when the badge check passes | Fast-Track assigns a date; Skip the Line picks one |
| Publishing gate | Automatic. A reciprocal badge on your own site publishes the listing — no editor, no queue. | Paid slot with a scheduled launch date |
| Outbound link | Dofollow while the badge is installed; permanent on Premium. Never sold. | Dofollow advertised on every tier — see our check below |
| Staying listed | 5 upvotes in 24 hours or the listing is hidden from browse, with one free relaunch. | Listing remains after launch day |
| Relaunch | One free relaunch if the first attempt misses the bar | Relaunch offered as a paid option |
| Membership | None. No subscription of any kind. | Annual Pro membership offered separately |
| Paid placement | Labelled and rendered separately from the organic board. They cannot move a listing up it. | Paid tiers are the launch mechanism, not an add-on |
The rule: a published listing has 24 hours from launch to collect 5 qualifying upvotes. Clear it and the listing and its followed link are permanent. Miss it and the listing is hidden from browse and its outbound link drops to nofollow — nothing is deleted, and you get one free relaunch. While LetsLaunch is still building up daily volume this rule is paused, so no listing is currently removed for missing the threshold.
Not a claim — a fetch, with the page we read it from.
We confirmed a followed outbound link on Uneed.
We fetched a real listing page on uneed.best and read the rel attribute on its outbound link, rather than repeating what their marketing says. Last checked September 1, 2026.

For most products these are not mutually exclusive. Launch week has room for more than one board, and neither platform asks for exclusivity.
A launch board that closes its free queue is making a reasonable trade: fewer, more committed listings, and revenue that does not depend on ads. The cost lands on the indie maker with no budget, who is also the person for whom a single followed link matters most.
The trade we made instead is the badge. Publishing here costs you a reciprocal link on your own site — real, crawlable, pointing at your listing. That is a price, it is just not a monetary one, and it does something a payment cannot: it keeps our outbound profile made of makers who publicly vouch for their listing.
The second difference is what happens after. A paid slot generally guarantees publication and nothing else; here publication is easy and staying listed is the hard part, at 5 upvotes in 24 hours. Whether that is better depends entirely on whether you can find a handful of real supporters on launch day.
And on the dofollow claim: every launch board advertises one. The way to settle it is to open one of their existing listings, view source, and read the rel attribute on the outbound link. We did that systematically across the field and published the results — including where the check was blocked and where it came back nofollow.
Free, no queue, no assigned date. A badge on your site is the whole price.
