TinyLaunch alternative

A TinyLaunch alternative where the link is not limited to the top 3

TinyLaunch runs a free daily competition where the top three finishers earn a badge and a backlink. If you finish fourth, you have spent your launch day on a board and come away with a page and not much else.

Here the link is not a prize for placing. Every published listing carries a dofollow outbound link, earned the same way by everyone: install the reciprocal badge on your own site.

  • A followed link on every published listing, not just the podium
  • No queue — the badge check publishes you when you are ready
  • One free relaunch if the first attempt misses the threshold
  • Free, with paid tiers that add placement rather than links

What TinyLaunch is

TinyLaunch is a free daily launch competition. Products go live on the homepage for several days and compete on upvotes; the top three get a badge and a backlink. Standard launches are free but queued, and a paid Premium launch skips the queue. Their dofollow link is granted when you embed the TinyLaunch badge on your landing page.

So the badge requirement is common ground — both platforms ask for a reciprocal link. The difference is whether the followed link is also conditional on finishing in the top three.

LetsLaunch vs TinyLaunch

Mechanics, side by side. Everything in the TinyLaunch column comes from their own pricing and submission pages; where we could not confirm something, the cell says so.

Who gets a followed linkEvery published listing, while the badge is installedThe day's top 3, per their launch rules

QueueNone — the badge check is the only gateStandard launches are queued
Competition formatA threshold, not a podium: 5 upvotes in 24 hoursDaily competition; ranking decides the reward

The rule: a published listing has 24 hours from launch to collect 5 qualifying upvotes. Clear it and the listing and its followed link are permanent. Miss it and the listing is hidden from browse and its outbound link drops to nofollow — nothing is deleted, and you get one free relaunch. While LetsLaunch is still building up daily volume this rule is paused, so no listing is currently removed for missing the threshold.

Which one should you use?

Choose LetsLaunch if…

  • You want a followed link without having to win the day
  • You do not want to sit in a queue or pay to leave one
  • You would rather clear a fixed bar than beat whoever else launched today
  • You want a free second attempt if the timing went badly

Choose TinyLaunch if…

  • You are confident of a top-3 finish and want the badge that comes with it
  • A competitive format is motivating rather than off-putting
  • You want several days on their homepage rather than a fixed window
  • You are stacking boards and theirs is one of them

For most products these are not mutually exclusive. Launch week has room for more than one board, and neither platform asks for exclusivity.

Threshold versus podium

A podium rewards you relative to whoever else happened to launch that day. A threshold rewards you relative to a fixed number. They select for different things: the podium selects for the biggest audience in the room, the threshold selects for having any real audience at all.

We chose the threshold because the thing being handed out is a followed link, and a link's value should not depend on how busy Tuesday was. 5 upvotes in 24 hours, counted from accounts that existed before they voted, applied identically to a funded team and a solo maker.

It has a cost. A threshold produces no drama and no leaderboard tension, and a competitive format genuinely does motivate people to promote their launch harder. If that pressure is what gets you to tell your users about the launch at all, the podium format is doing something useful for you.

Both platforms ask for a reciprocal badge, so on that axis there is nothing to choose between them — and both should be checked the same way. Open a live listing, view source, read the rel attribute. That is the only version of a dofollow claim worth anything.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to finish in the top 3 to get a backlink here?
No. Rank does not affect the link at all. Every published listing carries a dofollow outbound link while the reciprocal badge is installed, and clearing the survival threshold makes it permanent.
Is there a queue?
No. Nothing waits for a slot. Your listing publishes on the next badge check after the badge goes live, and you can trigger that check yourself.
What is the threshold?
5 qualifying upvotes within 24 hours of publication. Votes from accounts created minutes before voting are displayed but do not count toward it, and a warning email goes out if you are short with time left.
Can I launch on both TinyLaunch and here?
Yes. Neither asks for exclusivity, and both accept a reciprocal badge, so you can run both in the same week with two badges on your site.
